The evening will begin with a Meet and Greet. Then Alison will share her journey to the job, how she intends to fulfil the aims of the council plan that relate to sustainability issues and how she perceives the role of community organisations like BBSN, Environmental Voice, Baw Baw Food movement and Food Hub and others and how they could best interact with the council for mutual benefit.
Cost $12 non members or $9 for members and includes networking and a light supper afterwards.
Short Biography of Ms. Alison Leighton.
“Ms Leighton commenced as the CEO of Baw Baw Shire Council on Monday 21 August 2017.
Ms Leighton has over 15 years of progressive leadership experience in infrastructure, planning, operations, program and service delivery and business transformation. In addition to Ms Leighton’s local government experience, she is a qualified engineer, an alumni of Harvard Business School, an MBA graduate and a member of the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (Victoria) Board. Recently, Ms Leighton was recognised as one of the Top 50 Public Sector Women (Victoria) 2017 (Davidson WP).
Ms Leighton, was formerly the Chief Operating Officer at Mornington Peninsula Shire, where she was responsible for the delivery of a $35 million Capital Works Program, management of the $40 million per annum long term infrastructure maintenance service contract, oversite of the Council’s planning and building services areas and leadership of the Shire’s response to climate change.”
