About the Event

BBSN is proud to present "Waste Reduction in Schools"

With guest speakers, Simone Taylor and Emma Savage.

Simone Taylor is a ResourceSmart School Facilitator for Baw Baw Shire and Latrobe City. She will talk about their programs where they focus on waste, water, energy and biodiversity. When they work with schools to implement programs they can work with teachers, students or the administration.

Emma Savage is a parent and the Fete Coordinator at Westgarth PS and has been working on waste reduction at the fete for the past 5 years. This has included recycling, reduction of purchasing, and increased awareness in the community about waste avoidance and waste sorting. In that time they have reduced waste at the fete by 75% across all the activities. Having featured on the ABC News this year, interest has come in from other schools and the Darebin City Council. Emma will talk about this journey.

This presents a great opportunity to listen and learn from speakers with hands on experience.

Learn how to get students committed to the Waste Reduction Program and how to reduce waste at your annual fete or events.

Light supper is provided after the event and an opportunity to network with speakers and other guests.
