An exciting large scale Battery energy Storage System (BESS) is being proposed for Darnum by Samsung Renewable Energy Aust. At 200MW, it will impact our land, homes and way of life.
We need more information about potential adverse impacts and any community benefits.
The company must consult with the community, so BBSN has organised an opportunity for you to be informed and involved.
Large-scale BESS absorb excess energy (usually around midday) and discharge back to the grid during peak usage (usually around dinnertime). This helps smooth the flow of electrons and improve energy reliability.
