About the Event
This tour starts by driving through Drouin and beyond to Modella, a grazing farming area.
Lesley and Geoff’s garden is on a large block divided off from a farm.
The tour will then return to the highway and along to Yarragon where a coffee stop will be at Fozigobbles café, whilst looking at the BBSN community garden REstore. A packed lunch will be collected here.
The drive on to Willow Grove leaves the highway at Trafalgar and heads north with a gradual ascent from the farms on the Trafalgar flats up to Willow Grove, where Hygge is situated on the edge of Blue Rock dam, a large water body used for domestic water supplies and recreation.
A short drive ascending further through dairy farms takes you to Hill End where lunch will be eaten at Eden Hill. This and the next property are both organic vegetable growing small farms, with lots more besides to see.
The drive through to Piedmont is most attractive, winding through farmland with views right back to the Trafalgar-Yarragon area and the Strzelecki hills beyond, then through forest to reach Baw Baw Organics.
The trip back to Warragul is another lovely drive, climbing up to the high plateau of the Neerim area farmland, then a long gradual descent to Warragul.
