About the Event

The Baw Baw Sustainability Network is pleased to host an evening on Latrobe Valley mine rehabilitation.

What will the future look like for Victoria’s declared mines?

Speakers include Nina Burke and Richard Polmear from the Great Latrobe Park project. The project imagines mines repurposed as lakes, forests, wetlands, parks linked by pathways that encourage creative utilisation of the vast space.

The presentation will also include Dr Jennifer Brereton, CEO from the Mine Land Rehabilitation Authority - an independent authority working with community, industry and government. Its aim is to facilitate the rehabilitation of mine sites to ensure they are safe, stable and sustainable for the beneficial use of future generations.

Hear about the projects and what you can do to participate in the process. An informed community is an empowered community.

We hope you can join us for a what will be an enjoyable evening.
