About the Event
Earth is being buried by fashion. What can be done?
Catriona Ferguson, community presenter known for delivering engaging talks that combine cultural history, sustainability, and practical learning, will encourage us think about the environmental consequences of what we wear, highlighting the fashion industry as one of the world’s most environmentally damaging industries. She will explore the growing problem of waste clothing and textile byproducts, as well as the importance of upcycling and reusing garments.
The presentation on Thursday 25 June at Yarragon promises to be both thought-provoking and engaging, exploring not only how fashion reflects history and technological change, but also how our clothing choices impact us all.
Participants are invited to wear their oldest functional item of clothing and be ready to share its story – how long they have owned it, why it has lasted, and why they still love wearing it.
